I hope you’re hunkered down keeping warm and dry while the storm travels through. As my tiles chatter and the whippet sleeps under the duvet, I thought I would jot a journal which I’m rather terrible at keeping up with!

December seems to fly by and with all the best intentions of getting organised I always seem to run out of time. I’ve been busy in my studio trying to get it just so, I am no interior designer but I think I have finally placed my desk in the entrance space where the glass doors allow me to gaze at the garden watching life bob, flutter & scramble about which I loose hours just watching.

Whilst getting my studio in shape I found a piece of furniture that can hold all of the natural debris I collect (with the intention to photograph during those long dark days), something to inspire me and keep the ideas and work flowing. In doing a bit of rearranging I came across cards which have been quietly waiting for this time of year to emerge from the cupboard, together with some photography collections which were lovingly handmade. I look back at some of my earliest work as a student and it’s so interesting to see how much I have naturally returned to that time of curiosity and subject matter.
