Time for a Change

Hayley’s Wood

Autumn is slowly ebbing away and the last few leaves of my liquid amber tree are being lifted off by the wind leaving behind certainty that winter is creeping up behind.

Aside from capturing autumn as and when the light & time is right, I've been busy planning for an exhibition next April, called Serendipity – A Field Day for Flowers, celebrating three artists, I will be posting more info on this shortly. It really is the coming together of floral beauty in painting, textiles, ceramics and photography.

I've also had a couple of short bursts of moments in my studio where I've been capturing a few pieces of plant material, my work flow in there is taking a little time, but actually it's not the creative side that holds me back it's the chaos of my post production system, the things I can't bear to tackle! I always promise that in the shorter, darker days of winter when I have to dig deep, I would concentrate on the things that I constantly push to the bottom of the list, work flow is one of those things.

I am so thrilled to now present my new website, which although has been live for sometime, is now at a place where I am proud to see my work and happy to share it. I am so grateful to Lucy Timmins who has been incredibly patient with me, I very lucky that she also shares my passion for the love of nature and really understands my work, leading to a site where my client work and personal work can be in once place.

My personal work is mostly held on a feeling, a moment in time when I am immersed in nature, whether it be at eye level amongst the wild flowers in the meadow or stood on a beach in the Highlands where the boulders are being kissed by the evening light and the incoming tide waters are edging closer and closer to me.

I thought for my first journal entry I would leave with you some of the incredible autumn colour that has captivated me from various woodlands where I live. I'm hoping to present an exhibition one day where you walk into a space and you are surrounded by the woodlands, just to feel nurtured by nature.

My collections are all available as limited edition prints, please do get in touch if you would like any further information.
